Welcome to Rowe Street Medical Centre, an AGPAL accredited GP practice with modern facilities and friendly staff. We are committed to healthcare within our community and this is reflected in everything we do. A large practice with eight doctors and two registered nurses, we will ensure your family’s health is taken care of.
Quality Health Services for the Whole Family
There is a Laverty pathology collection centre on site with one full-time collector and one part-time collector. We have specialist services onsite including Neurology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Rehabilitation medicine. The medical centre provide Psychology, Dietician and Ultrasound diagnostic services. We are also the Australian hearing services Eastwood branch.
Most of our staff can speak Mandarin and Cantonese in addition to English and we have an interpreter service if needed. The practice is located next to a pharmacy and we have 2 hour or 3 hour parking available in the car park across the road. We are close to public transport and we have disabled access. Ryde District Hospital is located nearby. We are easily accessible for residents of Eastwood, and surrounding areas, such as Epping , Carlingford, Ryde, Macquarie, Ermington, Dundas, West Ryde, Top Ryde, Pymble and Chatswood.
As a bulk billing practice, we offer bulk billing to all patients holding a valid Medicare card for all Medicare-eligible procedures. This means no out-of-pocket cost for most general consultations.

We have specialist services onsite including respiratory and sleep specialist! The medical centre provide psychologist, physiotherapist, exercise physiologist, podiatrist, diabetes educator, dietician, technician for home sleep study, screening hearing test etc
Appointments
Consultations are normally by appointment, but urgent appointments are also available if ring first thing in the morning. WE ALSO HAVE WALK IN SYSTEMS.

After Hours – If you require medical care after hours, please phone 0448 003 146. IT WILL COST $50 FOR PHONE ADVICE, AND $250 ON TOP OF MEDICARE REBATE FOR ANY CALL OUTS. In emergencies, ring 000 for an ambulance.
Longer consultations – Please let the receptionist know if you would like to book a long appointment.
Home and nursing home visits
The doctors are available for home visits and local nursing home visits for our regular patients and if it is within 5 km of our surgery. Please phone the surgery as soon as possible after 8.30am.
Fees
Our practice bulk bills patients with a valid permanent Medicare card. EXCEPT FOR AFTER HOURS MEDICAL SERVICES, HOME VISITS, PRIVATE PATIENTS, OR PATIENTS WITH INTERIM MEDICARE CARD
Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash. We charge the fees recommended by the AMA.
A list of usual fees charged is displayed in the waiting room and is available on request. Pensioners may be bulk-billed.
There will be a $35 penalty fee if missed or cancelled 3 appointments(with less than 24 hours notification).

Reminder System
Our practice is committed to preventive care. You have the option of registering to receive reminder notices regarding health care services appropriate to your care.
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.
Patients of our practice have the right to access their personal health information under the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. Fees applied, see office manual.
Results
For all the pathology results, we only keep them within 3 month. For all the medical imaging results and films, we only keep them within 3 months. So please collect your results after you have seen the doctor.
Holidays
Our surgery usually closes on Public Holidays. Closures for other special occasions can be enquired from the receptionist or notice will be posted in the surgery in advance.

Interpreter Services
Our practice encourages patients to utilise the free Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) – Doctors Priority Line (1300 131 450).
A free interpreting service is available for patients who are deaf and use Australian Sign Language (AUSLAN). Contact the National AUSLAN Interpreter Booking and Payment Service (NABS) on 1800 246 945.
